Passionate about youth and community empowerment, with experience using participatory storytelling, mentorship, and capacity building to amplify community voices and promote locally led development. A creative and adaptable professional who leverages technology and innovative media solutions to communicate impact, connect people, and advance sustainable development.

SUED Chairperson Advisor Capacity building & community mobilization
A seasoned education and community development professional with over 20 years of experience in teaching, educational leadership, management, and administration. Holds a degree in Education, specializing in Physical Education and Sports, alongside a Diploma in Education and a Certificate in Teaching. She is an experienced trainer and facilitator, with particular expertise in child development, environmental conservation education, and community-based learning. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to strengthening families, promoting community development, and advancing social empowerment through education and practical skills development. Passionate about working with children, families, and communities, she brings a people-centered, approachable, and adaptable leadership style, complemented by a lifelong passion for sports and active learning.

A seasoned education management, human resource, and youth development professional with over 35 years of experience in educational leadership, organizational management, administration, and youth-focused development programs. Holds a Higher National Diploma in Education Management and a Diploma in Early Childhood Development. He served as Chairperson of the organization from 2016 to 2024, providing strategic leadership and governance oversight, and continues to contribute as a member following his retirement from the position. His expertise spans strategic administration, human resource development, governance, advocacy, business investment, and livelihoods programming, with a strong focus on approaches that strengthen organizational sustainability and community resilience. He brings a calm, diplomatic, and collaborative leadership style, with a strong ability to build consensus, navigate complex situations, and foster partnerships that advance sustainable development and community empowerment.
Moses Kirui
Co- founder and Programs Leader
Advisor Finance and Strategy
A senior development professional and organizational leader with over 20 years of experience in international development and NGO programming, with expertise in strategic leadership, program management, organizational growth, resource mobilization, and community empowerment. Holds an MSc in Gender and Economic Development and a BA in Development Studies. Currently serving as Interim CEO and Head of Programs, providing strategic leadership across program design, organizational development, administration, finance, and institutional strengthening. He has led and supported development initiatives spanning education, health, livelihoods, community mobilization, monitoring and evaluation, policy development, systems strengthening, finance, and capacity building. His experience working with development teams and partners in Kenya and the Netherlands has strengthened his ability to build effective partnerships and translate development strategies into sustainable, locally led solutions. He provides leadership in strategy development, fundraising, philanthropic engagement, and corporate partnerships, while actively representing the organization through public speaking and engagement with communities, institutions, and development stakeholders.

A seasoned business management, corporate partnerships, and resource mobilization professional with over 30 years of experience in strategic business management and administration across the Netherlands. Holds a degree in Chemistry, specializing in Organic Chemistry, complemented by professional qualifications in business management. He brings extensive experience in resource mobilization, corporate engagement, strategic networking, and partnership development, with a strong commitment to advancing sustainable development and social impact. His areas of interest include children’s access to education, environmental conservation, solid waste management, and women’s empowerment. A solution-oriented and innovative professional, he combines scientific expertise, business acumen, and entrepreneurial thinking to identify opportunities and develop practical solutions. As an industrial scientist, he has also contributed to academic publications and published scientific journals. Since joining SUED in 2025, he has played a key role in strengthening fundraising, corporate partnerships, and strategic networks. In 2026, he contributed to the establishment of SUED Netherlands, a sister organization supporting SUED’s development work in Kenya and expanding opportunities for international partnerships and resource mobilization.  
Saskia van Valkenhoef

Strategy & Capacity Building Advisor
A seasoned project management, organizational development, psychosocial support professional, and school leader with extensive experience in program development, team leadership, capacity building, and quality improvement in education and community development. She has worked across diverse development initiatives in Africa, contributing to project management, training and professional development, fundraising, advocacy, and lobbying for improved quality and access to education. Her expertise combines strategic planning, program coordination, team management, psychosocial support, and organizational capacity strengthening. She joined the SUED Board in 2022, bringing valuable expertise in organizational strategy, resource mobilization, and institutional development. Her strong networking and mobilization skills have contributed to the organization’s growth and strengthened its capacity to advance its mission. In March 2026, she took the Chairperson of SUED Netherlands role, where she provides strategic leadership for organizational growth, international partnerships, and strengthened support to SUED’s program in Kenya. She is passionate about building institutional capacity, mobilizing resources, and developing sustainable partnerships that enable organizations and communities to achieve lasting impact.
