Ivo is an experienced business development manager with over 30 years of international experience in the chemical industry. He holds a degree in Organic Chemistry, complemented with professional qualifications in business management.
He brings extensive experience in resource mobilization, corporate engagement, strategic networking, and partnership development, with a strong commitment to advancing sustainable development and social impact. His areas of interest include children’s access to education, environmental conservation, waste management, women’s empowerment and wealth distribution.
A solution-oriented and innovative professional, he combines scientific expertise, business acumen, and entrepreneurial thinking to identify opportunities and develop practical solutions. As an industrial scientist, he has also contributed to a range of academic publications and 25 patent publications.
Since joining SUED in 2025, he has played a key role in strengthening fundraising, corporate partnerships, and strategic networks. In 2026, he led the establishment of SUED Netherlands, a sister organization supporting SUED’s development work in Kenya and expanding opportunities for international partnerships and resource mobilization.
Ron Verleg – Co-Founder & Treasurer, SUED Netherlands
Ron Verleg is a co-founder and board member of SUED Netherlands, where he serves as Treasurer and contributes to the further professional development of the foundation.
Ron is an experienced product and business development professional with more than 40 years of international experience in the plastics and chemical industry. He holds a Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), with a specialization in project management.
Throughout his professional career, Ron has combined scientific and technical expertise with business development and project management. His experience in managing projects, developing new opportunities and working in an international environment provides a strong foundation for his contribution to SUED.
Ron has a particular interest in creating better educational opportunities for children in underprivileged communities and in raising awareness of environmental and sustainability challenges. He strongly believes that education, knowledge and practical support can empower children and communities to create opportunities for a better and more sustainable future.
Since joining SUED in January 2026, Ron has played a key role in professionalizing the foundation’s financial and project management activities, while also contributing to fundraising and the development of strategic networks. In addition, he focuses on strengthening communication and collaboration between the two sister organizations, SUED Kenya and SUED Netherlands.
Saskia van Valkenhoef Chairperson SUED Netherlands Strategy & Capacity Building Advisor A seasoned project management, organizational development, psychosocial support professional, and school leader with extensive experience in program development, team leadership, capacity building, and quality improvement in education and community development. She has worked across diverse development initiatives in Africa, contributing to project management, training and professional development, fundraising, advocacy, and lobbying for improved quality and access to education. Her expertise combines strategic planning, program coordination, team management, psychosocial support, and organizational capacity strengthening. She joined the SUED Board in 2022, bringing valuable expertise in organizational strategy, resource mobilization, and institutional development. Her strong networking and mobilization skills have contributed to the organization’s growth and strengthened its capacity to advance its mission. In March 2026, she took the Chairperson of SUED Netherlands role, where she provides strategic leadership for organizational growth, international partnerships, and strengthened support to SUED’s program in Kenya. She is passionate about building institutional capacity, mobilizing resources, and developing sustainable partnerships that enable organizations and communities to achieve lasting impact.
